IN A BRAND NEW COMEDY
"Remember Me," the new show at Hunterdon Hill Playhouse Theatre & Dining, Starring Joyce Dewitt offers a delightful change of pace from the theater's usual musical fare. "Remember Me" is a charming romantic comedy that explores an interesting subject: How do people, after years of comfortable marriage, avoid taking one another for granted? That theme is explored with a funny, sexy, somewhat risque story. As the play begins, Mary and Brian Hanson seem to be living the good life. They're successful - he's a tax attorney, she's a decorator. They've raised a family and downsized from the suburbs to an upscale Manhattan apartment. But Brian is a little bit boring and Mary is a little bit bored. Then Brian goes off to play tennis, Mary answers a doorbell and she finds Peter Lawrence, a man she once wanted to marry until he abruptly dumped her, standing in the doorway.
The cast is wonderful. Joyce DeWitt, best known for her eight-season run on "Three's Company," is terrific as Mary. She is pretty and petite and sexy,
a woman you believe could stir the passion of an old boyfriend.
